Quad Technologies has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I grant to support research and development efforts addressing critical challenges associated with clinical cell processing.   The grant will support development of an Affinity Chromatographic Cell Sorting (AFFICS) System for sorting of multiple cell types from a heterogeneous mixture without the use of magnetic or fluorescent labels. The ability to eliminate magnetic and fluorescent labels while maintaining cell viability and phenotypic stability has potential to increase availability of cell based therapeutics to patients worldwide battling cancer and other serious diseases.  The development team at Quad is excited to continue their work to further expand the novel applications of Quad’s proprietary QuickGel technology in clinical cell processing.
